Reflection on Technology Integration

Were the students focused on learning, not on the technology?
The students seemed to be concentrating on the learning, until we introduced the game. Then they seemed more interested in the online game then the lesson.

Was the technology a seamless part of the lesson?
I believe that it was. I was able to put up the pdf on the screen, people were able to pull up the pdf and the game worked great too.

Can you easily describe how the technology contributed to the lesson?
First off, it saved tons of paper and made the booklet able to be seen on the overhead. I also believe that since the pdf is available online, other teachers could easily download this and be able to use this in their classrooms.

Was the reason for the technology obvious to the students? For our class it was. I'm not sure if the 1st graders would have had the same thoughts that it was on the overhead for everyone to be able to see it. But they might have.

Did the technology help a particular student? Not in our classroom, but it could have helped a child who needed to see print in a larger format.

Would you have been able to accomplish the lesson without technology? Well, that's hard to answer. I could have presented the field guide without the overhead, but without technology all together, I would have had to draw the field guide by hand. So I could have done this in the outdoors without technology, don'tI dont think it would have been as nice if we wouldn't have had a computer at all.

Were all students participating with the technology and benefiting from it? Yes. I think they really enjoyed the interactiveness of the lesson and loved the online game. I think they they benefited from using the online pdf of the field guide because they could read along at their own pace.
