What kinds of classroom activities can be enhanced with software (spreadsheet, database, web development, etc.) applications? I think that all sorta of things in the classroom can be enhanced with software. A teacher could use spreadsheets to track grades, show the students charts in the classroom of different datasets, quickly show them multiplication tables, etc.
A teacher could use databases for all of the following:
Keeping track of food allergies and then the children can see this
A database of inventors and their inventions for a science class
Distance the students live from the school and show these to the class
Birthdays to be able to send out birthday cards to the students home
Pictures of the students with their parents on Back to School night so that the students can get to know one another
Using web development in class can show the students good ways to use the internet, a computer and how to be as safe as possible on there. Also you could create web pages for the students to interact with.
